EDGE/DM ecosystem

A governed data space for MedTech innovation

An environment where providers, manufacturers, developers, clinical organisations and technology partners turn data, models and capabilities into Data Products that can be used under clear conditions.

Value proposition

Built for use, not data accumulation

EDGE/DM connects supply and demand around concrete resources, preserving provider control and introducing a reviewable process before access or execution.

01 · Control

The provider remains in control

Providers define what they offer, for which purposes, under which conditions and which results may leave their environment.

02 · Purpose

Access linked to a stated purpose

Requests are reviewed against the declared purpose, eligibility and the specific conditions of each Data Product.

03 · Capability

Data and services in one catalogue

The space can bring together datasets, inference services, benchmarks, secure workflows and reusable evidence.

04 · Trust

Evidence and traceability

Provenance, versions, restrictions, executions and results remain associated with the product and its context of use.

Data Product lifecycle

From asset to governed use

The proposition does not end when a catalogue entry is published. EDGE/DM structures the journey required for an asset to be discovered and used in a controlled way.

  1. OnboardA participant contributes a dataset, model, service, benchmark or technical capability.
  2. ProductiseContent, quality, scope, evidence, restrictions and access model are documented.
  3. Discover and requestUsers review the public offer and submit a request linked to a stated purpose.
  4. Access or executeUse follows the agreed mechanism: controlled access, API, runtime or execution next to the data.
  5. RecordConditions, versions, results and traceability are retained to support review and trust.
Current catalogue

Initial Data Products in the pilot data space

These products illustrate different forms of value: validation against reference, delivery of clinical capabilities and stronger confidence in results.

Validation benchmark

Lateral Flow Reader Validation & Robustness Benchmark

Evaluates LFT readers, applications or algorithms against governed images and reference values, supported by the SmartDX ground-truth dataset.
